Meet the sitters
Founder/Chief Pet Lover – Stephanie
I’m originally from the Ft. Lauderdale area, but have lived in South Tampa for about 7 years now with my Coton De Tulear, Kashi. If you have never heard of one, there’s a great Dogs 101 about the breed. (http://www.animalplanet.com/tv-shows/dogs-101/videos/coton-de-tulear.htm)
Where it all began: When I was young, I grew up with all sorts of animals. My parents would often volunteer me to pet sit the neighbor’s pets. I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian one day, but college brought my career into a different direction, into Marketing and Advertising. After I graduated and entered the real world, I realized how much I missed the pet industry, so I started professionally pet sitting as something fun to do on the side, I soon realized how many people were looking for the services I offered and the business began to grow. So it’s funny how my dream of working with animals at the age of 10 followed me into adulthood. I can thankfully blame my parents for my fascination with animals.
Some of my professional pet care background: When I was 16, I worked at Pet Supermarket, where I worked for five years through high school and into college. During that time, I also worked at Petco and Nutro Dog Food products. I started professionally pet sitting in 2008.
Fun fact: I lived in Minnesota for two years before moving to Tampa. Yes, it was cold. I’m very happy to be back, though surprisingly I do miss it at times. I met some incredible people there and it will forever have a piece of my heart.
Education: I have my Bachelors degree in Communications with a minor in Business from Florida State University. Don’t worry, we accept all animals no matter what team their parents root for. 😉
Pet sitting is something I have always loved to do, and each and every day I am thankful for the opportunity to watch so many pets in the Tampa Bay area. The business has enabled me to meet many people over the years, some of which, I can call good friends. I do also have a day job in the marketing department of an insurance company, but I hope to turn my pet sitting services into a full-time career one day.
