Meet the sitters

Founder/Chief Pet Lover – Stephanie

I’m originally from the Ft. Lauderdale area, but have lived in South Tampa since 2010. My husband and I have 3 young daughters, and a Coton De Tulear named Kashi. If you have never heard of a Coton, there’s a great YouTube video from Animal Planet called Dogs 101 about the breed.  ( We also have a saltwater aquarium and a Gecko named Sticky,

Where it all began: When I was young, I grew up with all sorts of animals. My parents would often volunteer me to pet sit the neighbor’s pets. I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian one day, but college brought my career into a different direction, into Marketing and Advertising. After I graduated and entered the real world, I realized how much I missed the pet industry, so I started professionally pet sitting as something fun to do on the side, I soon realized how many people were looking for the services I offered and the business began to grow. So it’s funny how my dream of working with animals at the age of 10 followed me into adulthood. I can thankfully blame my parents for my fascination with animals.

Some of my professional pet care background: When I was 16, I worked at Pet Supermarket, where I worked for five years through high school and into college. During that time, I also worked at Petco and Nutro Dog Food products. I started professionally pet sitting in 2008.

Fun fact: I lived in Minnesota for two years before moving to Tampa. Yes, it was cold. I’m very happy to be back, though surprisingly I do miss it at times. I met some incredible people there and it will forever have a piece of my heart.

Education: I have my Bachelors degree in Communications with a minor in Business from Florida State University. Don’t worry, we accept all animals no matter what team their parents root for. 😉

Pet sitting is something I have always loved to do, and each and every day I am thankful for the opportunity to watch so many pets in the Tampa Bay area. The business has enabled me to meet many people over the years, some of which, I can call good friends. I left my corporate Marketing job to pursue my pet sitting business full time when I had my first daughter in 2017. I am very fortunate to stay home with my now youngest daughter who has joined me on some dog walks and visits to our many furry clients.

Bamboo Pet Sitting Team:

You will always have someone available in case of an emergency.

This company wouldn’t be what it is without my incredible staff of sitters and dog walkers. What’s nice about having a staff of sitters if you’re not relying on one person. In case there was an emergency, there is always a back up sitter on call to help.

Many of my staff members have been on board with Bamboo for a few years. They handle majority of the home visits, some of the dog boarding, and the in home sleepovers we offer as well.

You will have the option to meet your sitter if they will be boarding your dog, or sleeping over your home. A meet and greet will be set up prior to your vacation. This way you get to know who will be spending time with your pets.
